Brand Evolution
Where Allison Charnin Began…
Allison Charnin is a fine art photographer based in Rochester, Minnesota. With degrees in Art History and Math, she captures landscapes that merge the soft and technical aspects of photography in a unique way. She provides heirloom quality work, bringing a comfortable luxury to the walls of her customers’ spaces. She didn’t have an online presence to sell her images that matched the beauty and detail of her work. She came to us looking for a website where her images would look at home.
Where Allison Charnin Is Headed…
Allison’s favorite part of her business is carefully curating a quality collection of landscapes from around the United States. She uses this collection of images to inspire her clients, remind them of the outdoors, and create work that holds stories for generations to come. If her customer has a special memory attached to a place, she wants to give them art to remind them of it. We created a site that felt as significant and grand as the images she creates.

Target Audience
Robbie, 55, and Kristen, 54 are recent empty nesters and just sold their family’s suburban home to purchase a smaller, but more elevated house by the lake. They now live near several empty-nester friends and within walking distance from a small, neighborhood village with restaurants, a local bank, and a yoga studio. On the weekends, they love hosting pasta and wine nights and sharing stories of recent travels. With kids out of the house, they’re looking to gather some coordinated art pieces to make their home feel more adult once again. They’re inspired by the outdoors and are looking for investment pieces to bring their time from around the world into their home.
Visual Rationale
This brand needed to feel genuine, intentional, and archival all at the same time, clearly communicating the brand values. But we also want it to represent the grandiose landscapes in the images. We were inspired by cozy cabins, warm flannels, and old libraries. The mark in the logo depicts the sunrise and sunset, which is so often in Allison’s images. We used the style of a family crest, nodding to the heirloom quality of the prints.
Brand Values

If you’ve made it this deep into our site, you probably already know that collaboration is our favorite. This project was a team effort with the help of Andrea Littell on copywriting.
